Applications are now being accepted for a scholarship to be given away by a local Homemakers Club.
Ashley White, Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences at the Caldwell County Extension Office, says that the Caldwell County Extension Homemakers will be awarding a $500 scholarship to one Caldwell County High School Senior this spring.
White says that in order to be eligible the student must be a son, daughter, or grandchild of a parent or legal guardian who has been an active member of a Caldwell County Extension Homemakers Club for at least the past two years. The student must also be a graduating Caldwell County High School Senior who has applied to and been accepted by a post-secondary institution of higher learning.
Eligible students must also be in the top 20 percent of their graduating class and have an ACT score of 17 or higher, be involved in extra-curricular organizations and club, be active within their community or church, and can present any honors or awards they have received.
