Community invited to Special Olympics Winter Fest Jamboree this weekend

All in the community are being invited to a Special Olympics jamboree this weekend in Princeton.
Roy Gene Rogers, head coach for Caldwell County’s Special Olympics Basketball Team, says the Winter Fest Jamboree will be held on Saturday, January 19th and will have teams from all over the region.

Rogers says that the Jamboree will include four Tier One teams and four Tier Two teams with games starting every 45 to 50 minutes.

Rogers states that the team currently consists of ten players and are a decent team who grows each year.

Rogers wishes to thank the Caldwell County School System for the support they’ve shown the Special Olympics team over the years.

His gratitude also extends to all those in the community who have supported the team and given them the ability to present a t-shirt and medal to each participant in Saturday’s Jamboree.

The Winter Fest Jamboree will begin at 9AM Saturday, January 19th at the Caldwell County Middle School Gym. There is no admission charge however they will accept donations for the Special Olympics. For more information you can call Roy Gene Rogers at 270-625-8774.
