Local students invited to participate in annual Rotary Speech Contest

Local students are being invited to participate in a speech contest for a chance to receive awards and move on to a sectional contest.
Melissa Earnest, Princeton Rotary Club Executive Secretary, says that the local Princeton Rotary Club Speech Contest will take place on Tuesday, March 5th at noon at the Majestic House in Princeton. She notes that the contest is open to all high school students, both public and private, as well as home schooled students.
Earnest states that this year’s theme is “Be the Inspiration,” which was selected by Rotary International President Barry Rassin. The objective for each speech is for the student to address the topic on a person level.
Awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the local level with the first place winner advancing to the sectional contest.
Students at Caldwell County High School can find more information as well as the entry form at the Guidance Counselor’s office. All other students can email Melissa Earnest at princetonrotaryclub@gmail.com.
