Several in the community gathered for the fourth annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Luncheon held at the Central Presbyterian Church in Princeton on Monday.

Guest speaker Reverend Kimberely Traylor speaks to the crowd at the 4th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Luncheon Monday

Guest speaker, Reverend Kimberley Traylor, Pastor at the Spillman Chapel CME Church in Princeton, stated that remembrances of Dr. King should be held within the worship context as he was a pastor before he was an activist.

Rev. Traylor added that everyone must remember Dr. King’s impact on society, what he fought and strived for, which were justice, love, and liberation.

Monday’s program also included several hymns from the Princeton City Choir under the direction of Barbara Poulnot and a reading of Dr. King’s quotes by members of the Caldwell County Middle School Horizon Club.
Following the program, all in attendance gathered in the church’s fellowship hall for lunch and fellowship.
