Local Organization Hoping to Tackle Hunger with Souper Bowl of Caring

A local organization is hoping to tackle hunger in the community through a food drive.
Ashley White, Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences at the Caldwell County Extension Office says the Souper Bowl of Caring food drive will begin on Tuesday and will run through Friday, February 1st. The annual food drive is organized through the Caldwell County Homemakers.
White adds that the Homemakers are asking for donations of non-perishable food items, such as cereal, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta noodles and pasta sauce, mac-n-cheese, canned meats and more. Donations can be dropped off at the Extension Office located on Highway 62 West in Princeton.
White notes that all donations will go to the Christ Tabernacle Food Pantry, which is open Mondays and Fridays from noon until two and services all of Caldwell County. The Food Pantry, which is located at 1839 Highway 62 West, also has a mass food distribution the Friday of the second full week of the month from one until three. For more information about the Food Pantry you can call 270-365-1744 extension 2.
