Local students will report to school on a delay Thursday morning following extremely cold temperatures and a winter storm that dumped snow throughout the area.
Caldwell County Transportation Director Jimmy Dyer says that Caldwell County Schools will start on a two hour delay to allow bus drivers, parents, and students to drive safely.
In an automated phone message Dyer states that while most main roads are clear secondary county roads will have slick spots as temperatures drop overnight, re-freezing melting snow left on the roadways.
In the best interest of safety it was decided that school would start two hours late to allow drivers to see any potential slick spots during their commute.
