Law enforcement are still searching for a person who fled the scene of an accident early Thursday morning.
Caldwell County Sheriff Stan Hudson says that Deputy Keith Suits was dispatched to a rollover collision in the 10,000 block of Marion Rd/Highway 91 North just after 2AM. While in route, Deputy Suits was informed by first responders, who were already on scene, that the operator of the vehicle had exited and fled the scene.
Sheriff Hudson adds that a resident reported seeing the driver in the immediate area going behind the residence where the car came to a final rest just past the intersection of Farmersville Road. Deputy Suits and Princeton Fire/Rescue units searched the area for approximately an hour for the vehicle operator without success.
According to preliminary investigation it appeared the operator of the vehicle was traveling northbound on Marion Road when for unknown reasons the car left the outside right shoulder of the roadway at Jacob Lane. It then traveled a short distance hitting two culvert drains at the end of two driveways on Marion Road causing the vehicle to rollover at least once and then partially strike a tree in front of 10702 Marion Road, where it came to a final rest.
Sheriff Hudson notes there was no sign of serious injury indicated inside the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle has still not been found but officers are following leads and the investigation is ongoing.
