There’s just a couple more days for local grain farmers to sign up for a risk management educational meeting next week.
Shane Bogle, Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources at the Caldwell County Extension Office, says that the 2019 Row Crop Risk Management Meeting will be held on February 14th at the Extension Office.
Bogle notes that the meeting is also a way for grain producers to make decisions for the coming year through a computerized spreadsheet.
Bogle adds that there will be several guests there speaking on various topics surrounding risk management.
Bogle advises farmers to bring their own laptops to use during the meeting but says there will be laptops available to use for those who don’t have one. Participants will be able to use the laptops to learn how to use the spreadsheets for their own farms.
Those grain producers interested in attending the meeting, which is an all day event with lunch provided, need to call the Extension Office at 270-365-2787 and register by Monday, February 11th.
