Transportation Crews To Be On Standby Saturday Night

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be on standby overnight Saturday into Sunday morning as a round of wintry precipitation is expected to move across the region.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd says crews will have salt trucks loaded and ready to hit the road should any travel issues develop. Todd reminds citizens that highway crews are very limited in their ability to improve driving conditions during an event that includes ice accumulation.
Weather Edge Forecaster David Powell says a light wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will be possible for awhile Sunday morning over parts of the region before transitioning over to all rain by Sunday afternoon. Powell adds an active weather pattern is expected early next week with multiple rounds of rainfall expected from Sunday through Tuesday night with an additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is expected.
