A local school’s football team is selling a delicious sweet treat to raise funds to cover extra expenses.
Caldwell County Football Coach David Barnes says that the Tigers are again selling strawberries for the next few weeks that can be purchased through a few different ways.
Coach Barnes notes that orders have to be made by February 25th.
Coach Barnes adds that the strawberries, which come from Plant City, Florida, are picked the day before delivery and will be available for pickup at the Field House by the football field when they arrive.
He says that the fundraiser has been pretty successful for the program over the last four years, raising more than $3,000. He mentioned that there will be a few flats of strawberries available, first come first serve, on pickup day.
Coach Barnes wants the public to know that the fundraiser is to collect funds to help support team costs that go above and beyond their standard budget.
He also adds that the team will do another fundraiser closer to summer.
