Caldwell County Clerk’s Office Expecting to Continue with Elections Service Provider

The Caldwell County Clerk’s Office expects to stay with the same elections services provider following action taken at a recent meeting.
Clerk Toni Watson addressed the Fiscal Court during Tuesday morning’s meeting stating that the contract with Harp Enterprises Incorporated will be up for renewal by the end of the fiscal year. Harp Enterprises deals with all services concerning elections held within the county including servicing the machines, printing ballots, educating election volunteers, and more.
Watson added that fees will change for the new four-year contract, increasing from $94,560 per year to $102,124.80 per year. She said the county has used Harp Enterprises for the last several years and has experienced no issues with their service.
When asked about potentially changing to a new elections services provider Watson noted that it would be difficult to do so so close to May’s Primary Election.
After a motion and a second the Court unanimously approved re-entering a contract with Harp Enterprises. The contract is awaiting Judge Executive Larry Curling’s signature, as he was absent from the meeting Tuesday.
