Budget Workshop for City Organizations to be held in March

Local organizations that receive funding from the city are being asked to participate in an upcoming budget workshop for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
Princeton Mayor Kota Young spoke about an upcoming budget workshop at a meeting Monday night saying that the purpose will be to make sure all appropriations put in the city’s budget will be used in the public interest.
Mayor Young added that organization chairs will have the opportunity during the budget workshop to present their organization’s financial information to the City Council.

He noted that it is also his intention to have budget requests submitted in writing every year.

Mayor Young expressed that it wasn’t his belief that any money is being spent inappropriately but rather it was a good rule of thumb to make sure funds are spent in a specified way.

The budget workshop will be held Thursday, March 7th beginning at 5:30PM at the Tourism Center in downtown Princeton and is open to the public.
