Learning Feet Equals Happy Feet Soon to begin Fundraising for 2019

A local non-profit organization is imploring the community’s help to provide brand new shoes for children in need.
Ty Englebright, Happy Feet Equals Learning Feet Committee Member, says that the organization partners with local shoe stores and the HOPE/COPE Centers to provide brand new brand name shoes to children in need. The organization also presents new shoes to members of the Special Olympics. He notes that the idea originally began in Union County as a way to boost confidence in the classroom.

He adds that the local committee will again be fundraising for the organization here in Caldwell County later this year.

Englebright says that normally they operate on $6,000 budget but they are looking to increase those funds to provide even more quality shoes to children in the community.

He notes that while they do plan on having community wide fundraisers, their main source of funds comes from corporate sponsors.

As for community wide fundraisers, Englebright says to stay tuned for something special and different this year.

Englebright adds that the organization is blessed to be in such a giving community.

He notes that it takes around $30 to provide one child with a new pair of shoes and in 2018 alone Happy Feet Equals Learning Feet delivered 4,913 pairs of shoes to 17 locations throughout Kentucky, including here in Caldwell County.
Those interested in donating or those looking for more information about the organization can contact Caldwell County Committee Chair Jill Lane at 270-365-2033 or Ty Englebright at 270-963-8860. Interested community members can also contact the staff at One Main Financial on West Main Street or ABC Finance on Highway 62 West in Princeton.
