Man Charged After Saturday Morning Officer Involved Shooting

Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Glasgow early Saturday morning.
Police say Barren County Deputy Joseph Ford and Glasgow Police Officer Zane Greer were attempting to arrest Johnathan Shelton of Smyrna, TN, following a short vehicle pursuit. Deputy Ford was shot one time during the altercation.
He was transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow and was later taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Shelton was charged with one count of 1st-degree assault (police officer), one count of 3rd-degree assault (police officer), three counts of 1st-degree wanton endangerment, among other charges and lodged in the Barren County Jail.
