Eligibility Requirements for Receiving City Permits, Licenses, or Approvals Proposed

City residents may not be eligible to receive any city issued license or permit if they have a delinquency or violation if an ordinance proposed at a recent meeting is approved.
Princeton Code Enforcement Officer Dickie Thomas proposed an ordinance concerning delinquency and violations and city permits to the City Council Monday night. Thomas says the ordinance will give the city leverage on the issuance of any license, permit, or other approvals.

He adds that under the proposed ordinance anyone who is delinquent or has a violation will not be eligible for any city issued license, permit, or approval.

Thomas notes that the ordinance is important because he is running into this issue more and more.

He adds that another situation involves a property owner who did not get a building permit before putting a structure on the property.

The Council will vote to approve or deny the ordinance at the next regular meeting on Monday, March 18th at the Tourism Center in Princeton. The meeting is open to the public.
