Caldwell Medical Center Invests in Next Generation

A local medical center is helping local students attend a state leadership conference.
According to a release, Caldwell Medical Center presented a $500 sponsorship to the Caldwell Regional Career Center Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter in an effort to help them attend the annual Kentucky HOSA State Leadership Conference.
The release states that HOSA’s Future Health Professionals is a exciting, leadership-driven, educationally advanced, and professionally focused student organization where members are given the opportunity to associate with many healthcare-focused professionals and students from across the state. Through leadership training and competition, students gain “soft skills” such as teamwork, interpersonal skills, and dependability.
Caldwell Medical Center CEO Dan Odegaard says that he believes that in addition to the responsibility they have to the present needs of the local community, they also have a responsibility to that community’s future. He adds that an investment like this plants a seed that will grow into resources that will serve this area in the years to come. He and the staff at Caldwell Medical Center are proud to be able to share in this work and do their part to keep opportunities available for the next generation.
The sponsored group is comprised of 15 students that will attend the state conference this month in
Louisville. The HOSA group will offer a presentation to the hospital upon their return to share about the valuable experience they had and various lessons they learned.
