Feeding God’s Children Backpack Program Still Going Strong Thanks to Community

A local feeding program is thanking the community for helping them stay strong for almost 10 years.
Joni Phelps, EFNAP Agent at the Caldwell County Extension Office and Coordinator of the Feeding God’s Children Backpack Program, is extending many thanks to the community that has continuously reached out and met needs.

She adds that the program currently has over 100 participating children.

Phelps reminds the community that the program provides a bag of food every Friday to a child that might not otherwise have a source of food when they’re not in school. She notes that the bags include easy to prepare meals that the child can make themselves.

She is also thankful that King’s Kitchen Summer Feeding program is available in the summers.
