Record Number of Items Sold on Third Night of the Radio Auction

The third night of the 48th Annual Princeton Optimist Club Radio Auction shaped up to be a great midpoint, raising another couple thousand in funds for youth in the community and even hitting a record.
Princeton Optimist Club President Ty Englebright says that approximately $2,600 was raised after auctioning off a record of 101 items for $1,850, with $776 given in donations through both the country store and the donation jar for Ralph Sharp’s photos.

Englebright adds that items auctioned off included anything from gift certificates to local businesses to handmade items to hair and beauty products to tickets to events and more.

Roy Gene Rogers, member of the Princeton Optimist Club, is reminding community members that there are still thousands of photos that were taken by Ralph Sharp throughout the course of several decades available, for free, at the Butler Gym. He adds that they will be there all week for members of the community to come by and browse and even take home. All that’s asked is that you leave a donation in Ralph’s memory for the Scholarship Fund. Rogers notes that Ralph was a longtime member of the Optimist Club and the Scholarship Fund was his passion. All donations from the photos will go towards the fund, which provides $250 for four years to graduating seniors in Caldwell and Lyon Counties who pursue higher education.

The 48th Annual Princeton Optimist Club Radio Auction will continue through Friday night at the Butler Gym in downtown Princeton. You can listen live at WPKY 103.3FM/1580AM, online at wpkyonline.com, and on the WPKY app. The number to call this year is 270-365-5866. Listen closely, call often, and bid high. All the funds raised go towards the various youth centered projects the Optimist Club does each year. Members of the Optimist Club are also encouraging people to stop by the Butler Gym browse auction items and bid in real time.
