Princeton Tourism Commission Announces Grant Application Process

The Princeton Tourism Commission is inviting organizations and groups within the community to apply for funding help to promote events that would draw tourism to the area.
Commission Chairman, David Brown, addressed the City Council during a meeting Monday, announcing their new grant application process.

Brown added that the Commission itself is unfunded and all grant funds would be facilitated through the transient room tax that the city already receives.

He noted that the Commission already has a grant application from the organizers of Summer Slam and asked the Council to consider releasing the funds to be used for the event.

Brown also asked that the Council release an additional $2,000 to cover the replacement of a tourism sign that was damaged on Interstate 69.

Mayor Kota Young added that the sign promoted both Adsmore Museum and Historic Downtown Princeton.

No action was taken on either matter. Interested organizations and groups looking to petition the Commission for grant funds can find applications at City Hall in Princeton. Grant applications must be in by June 30th and funding will be addressed once a quarter during the following fiscal year.
A presentation and forum concerning the grant application process will be held Monday, April 22nd at 6PM at the Tourism Center in downtown Princeton and is open to the public.
