Caldwell County Superintendent Urging Parents To Help Students Prep For Testing

Local education officials are asking parents to help prepare students as testing is set to start at the beginning of next month.
Caldwell County Superintendent Nate Huggins says that testing will begin the first full week of May.

He is encouraging parents to help make sure students get proper sleep and breakfast in preparation for testing.

Superintendent Huggins is also asking parents to refrain from scheduling any appointments during testing as it’s hard for students to make up missed dates.

He notes that one of the most needed areas of improvement across the district in is reading at the lower level and is challenging parents to begin reading with their young children to help improve reading comprehension.

Testing for Caldwell County High School students will begin May 6th with testing for elementary and middle school students to begin May 8th.
