Proposed Ordinance To Save City Money Concerning Certain Former State Employees

A proposed ordinance pertaining to the non-elected positions of police chief and assistant police chief has been brought before the Princeton City Council.
At a meeting Monday night Mayor Kota Young explained that the ordinance will amend current outdated language within the city’s Code of Ordinances that will end up saving the city money.

If the proposed ordinance passes the city will not be required to pay pension and health insurance benefits for any former Kentucky State Police Trooper who is hired as either police chief or assistant police chief.
The Council will vote on the proposed ordinance during the next regular Princeton City Council meeting on Monday, May 20th at 5:30PM at the Tourism Center in downtown Princeton. The meeting is open to the public.
