Local School District Always Hiring Bus Drivers

A local school district is hoping to hire new bus drivers for the 2019-2020 school year.
Jimmy Dyer, Director of Transportation for the Caldwell County School District, says that the district will be losing a few drivers to retirement at the end of this school year, but the district is always looking for new drivers. He adds, however, that training is time consuming and takes a couple months.

Because the process does take a couple of months Dyer is hoping interested candidates will begin the process soon. He does note that interested candidates will face some upfront costs, but expenses will be reimbursed by the school district.

Dyer explains that interested candidates can go to the district’s website to fill out an application.

Interested candidates can visit caldwell.kyschools.us to find all the application information. Dyer states that all district bus drivers work around 20 hours per week and receive full benefits, including health insurance and retirement. Those interested can also call the district office at 270-365-8000.
