Closure of KY 126 in Southern Caldwell County to Begin Thursday, May 16th

Due to weather conditions, a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has postponed closing a section of KY 126 in southern Caldwell County.
KYTC Spokesperson Keith Todd says that KY 126 will be closed at milepoint 2.285 to allow reconstruction of the Dreen Creek Bridge, between Harmony Church Road and KY 514, starting on Thursday, May 16th.
He adds that the contractor will begin with the reconstruction of the bridge sub-structure, as well as rehab work on the piers and pier caps, to be followed by reconstruction of the bridge deck.
Todd notes that the closure is expected to be in place for approximately 45 days with a target completion date of July 1st.
This project is part of the Bridging Kentucky Program, an aggressive effort to replace or rehabilitate about 1,000 critical bridges over a period of 2 years. For more information on the program go to www.bridgingkentucky.com.
