Picnic In the Park Location Moved Amid Concern of Bees

The annual Princeton Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce Picnic in the Park has moved locations amid concern surrounding bees.
Chamber Executive Director Sean Mestan says that the annual fundraiser will now be held in the Woodall Agency parking lot at 110 West Washington Street in Princeton. He adds the move comes amid concern of bees returning to Olschewski Park.
According to a post on social media Mayor Kota Young stated that a hive of bees had moved into the park at the end of April. The bees were removed thanks to a local beekeeper but less than a week later they had returned. The bees were yet again removed and relocated.
Mestan notes that a hive has not returned but for the safety of all those who wish to participate in the fundraising event they made the decision to move locations.
He states that the picnic will still be held from 11AM to 2PM on Tuesday, May 14th. Menu includes a hot dog or pork tenderloin sandwich, chips, dessert, and drink for $5. Mestan reminds community members that orders can be delivered within the city limits if you order five or more lunches.
