First Annual Mental Health Awareness Day Event Sunday

All in the community are being invited to attend a special event to bring awareness to mental health on Sunday.
Organizers say that the first annual Mental Health Awareness Day in the Park will be held Sunday, May 26th, from 4 to 6PM at Big Springs Park in Princeton. The event will feature live music from Justin Reynolds and LJ Granstaff with a balloon send off to honor those fighting mental illness and/or suicide.
The event is meant to highlight hope and resiliency while ending the stigma surrounding mental illness. Following the balloon send off participants may share their recovery, and road to recovery, stories.
The event will also feature several guest speakers and trained mental health professionals that will be glad to talk with anyone who may need it.
The event, which is being sponsored by Princeton Counseling, is free and open to the public. Hamburgers, hotdogs, and beverages will be available and while they’re not required, donations are greatly appreciated, with all proceeds going to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
