Local Farm Sustained Minor Damage In a Fire Wednesday

A local farm sustained minor damage following a barn fire Wednesday afternoon.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis says that crews responded to reports of a barn fire at Morning View Farms on Highway 293 North just before five. When crews arrived on scene they discovered that a bale of hay had caught fire and flames had spread to some surrounding sawdust.
He adds that crews were able to contain the fire to the hay bale and surrounding sawdust by wetting down the surrounding barn, keeping the fire from spreading and becoming disastrous. Firefighters were able to remove the hay bale from the barn and successfully put out the flames.
Chief Francis notes that there were several horses within the barn at the time of the fire but all were evacuated safely and did not exhibit signs of smoke inhalation.
He states that the barn suffered very minimal damage but it is still unknown what started the blaze.
