Sandlick Road in Caldwell County Closed for Short Time Due to Vehicle Fire

A portion of Sandlick Road in Caldwell County was closed for a short time while crews battled a vehicle fire at a residence.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis says that crews responded to reports of a vehicle fire at 2631 Sandlick Road shortly before 2:30. He adds that a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup had caught fire outside the residence.
Chief Francis notes that Sandlick Road was shut down for just over 30 minutes as crews battled the blaze. He states that both the truck, and a 2016 Club Car Golf Cart that was in the bed of truck, were complete losses.
The owner of the vehicle, Kevin Reed, told authorities that he was moving golf carts onto a trailer attached to the truck when he noticed smoke coming from under the hood. Reed was able to safely remove the golf carts that were on the trailer before the fire spread.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
