Memorial Day Services to Honor Fallen Veterans

Memorial Day may be the unofficial start to the summer but, most importantly, it’s a way to remember those who gave the ultimate price for our freedoms. All in the public are being invited to show their appreciation for those who gave all during several events throughout the community on Monday.
The Shady Grove Cemetery Association says that a Memorial Day service will be held at the cemetery on Monday beginning at 11AM with retired Kentucky Supreme Court Judge Bill Cunningham as guest speaker. They add that special music will be provided by Meghan Stallion with Taps performed by Clay Stevens. Lunch will follow at Shady Grove Fire Barn.
Volunteers with Cedar Hill Cemetery are inviting all in the public to help place flags in the cemetery to honor all fallen veterans. Volunteers are also being invited to attend a special breakfast at the VFW on East Main Street in Princeton.
City and county leaders are inviting the public to attend a special Memorial Day service on the Caldwell County Courthouse steps beginning at noon. All service members, non-service members, family, friends, and all in the public are welcomed and encouraged to attend Monday’s service.
Monday, as you enjoy your day off, whether you’re kicking back and relaxing, cooking out, heading to the lake or just enjoying time with friends and family, be sure to stop for a moment and give thanks to those service members who gave everything to secure our freedoms.
