Christian Co. Man And State Trooper Honored With Award

KSP Post Two Award Winners

A Christian County resident and former deputy was among 58 Kentucky State Police troopers and officers recognized last week for their acts of bravery, life-saving, professionalism, and dedication.
Former Christian County Sheriff’s Department deputy, Trooper Hunter Carroll of Post 2 in Madisonville, was named Post-Level Trooper of the Year. Carroll is a two-year veteran with state police and is assigned to Christian County where he also resides. He worked at the sheriff’s office for three years before joining Kentucky State Police.
Also receiving awards in Post 2: KSP Detective Jonathan Murphy, a former officer with the Madisonville Police Department, who was named Post-Level Detective of the Year; and Detective Jacob Fortney was awarded the Lifesaving award. Murphy and Fortney are Muhlenberg County residents.
KSP Post 1 Award Winners

In Post 1 in Mayfield, Senior Trooper Adam Jones was named Post-Level Trooper of the Year and Detective Cory Hamby was named Post-Level Detective of the Year.
Governor Matt Bevin joined Justice Secretary John Tilley and Kentucky State Police Commissioner Rick Sanders for the award ceremony that was held May 30 in Lexington.
