Spots Still Open for Summer Reading Programs at George Coon Public Library

School has ended, warm temperatures are in abundance, the days are getting longer, and everyone, especially kids, are looking for a way to fill their time this summer. And what better way to fill your time than a summer reading program?
Nichelle Faughn, Director of the George Coon Public Library, says that the library has three summer reading programs that kicked off this week with the Scholastic Book Fair.

She adds that for the teen summer reading program, which is for those in sixth through twelfth grades, all participating teens have a chance to win prizes as they complete certain things throughout the summer.

Faughn notes that the children’s summer reading program is a bit different as participating children come to the library once a week.

She also states that the adult reading program follows along in a similar way to the teen program.

Faughn expresses that it’s not too late to register and anyone interested in the programs can call the library at 270-365-2884. For more events happening throughout the summer at the George Coon Public Library check them out on Facebook or listen to WPKY’s Community Calendar at the top of the 8 o’clock hour each weekday morning.
