Budget Ordinance to Update Fiscal Year 2019 Budget Proposed

An ordinance proposing updates to the current city budget has been brought to the City Council and will be voted on later in the month.
At a meeting Monday night Princeton Mayor Kota Young explained that the budget ordinance was an annual clean up to make sure the city’s current budget was balanced before the end of the fiscal year.
Financial Secretary Stacy Boone added that the changes included payroll tax receipts in the amount of $63,920, a $1,500 Wal-Mart grant given to the Princeton Police Department, and a loan in the amount of $58,527 that was taken out by the city for a new dump truck.
The ordinance also included a change in expenditures for public safety in the amount of $19,700 to cover the addition of two School Resource Officers through the Princeton Police Department.
The budget ordinance will be voted on during the next regular session Princeton City Council meeting on Monday, June 17th at 5:30PM at the Tourism Center in downtown Princeton. The meeting is open to the public.
