Funeral services for Alton Wayne Beavers, age 78 of Cadiz, formerly of Princeton, will be held Thursday afternoon at three at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Visitation will be held Thursday morning from eleven until service time at the funeral home.
Wayne was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and attended Princeton First United Methodist Church. He was a retired brakeman-conductor for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and owner of Country Treasures Antiques in Fredonia. Wayne also raised and raced thoroughbred horses, built water-fowl calls and enjoyed goose hunting, deer hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Eunice Anderson Beavers of Cadiz; one daughter: Jennifer Beavers Hampton and husband, Eric, of Cadiz; one son: Michael Lee Green and fiancé, Jenny Zakutansky, of Valparaiso, IN; one sister: Mary Belle Boone of Fredonia; three grandchildren as well as several cousins, several nieces and nephews.
