City Council Approves Budget that Includes Over $500,000 in New Investment in Community

The budget for the City of Princeton for Fiscal Year 2020, which includes over $500,000 in new investments in the community, has been approved following action taken by the City Council.
On June 3rd, when the budget was originally proposed, Mayor Kota Young stated that the $4,327,813 budget was based upon anticipated revenues that had been adjusted to better reflect changes that had been made in Fiscal Year 2019.

He added that because of the reduction in certain departmental expenses the city would be able to invest more in the community.

Mayor Young explained that the budget would also allow more funds allocated for various other areas within the city to encourage growth and support general public improvements across the community.

At the meeting on June 3rd Mayor Young also noted that the goal of the budget was to rebuild Princeton and realize a better future for everyone and believed the proposed budget was one in which tax payers will see their tax dollars at work.
Following a roll call vote at a meeting Monday night the budget was unanimously approved. Two council members, Brian Conger and Pat George, were absent from the meeting and did not vote.
