A masked gunman who opened fire on a federal courthouse in downtown Dallas, Texas may have had a Fort Campbell connection.
Media outlets report, 22-year old Brian Isaack Clyde, opened fire on the Earle Cabell Federal Building Monday morning around 8:40. Law enforcement immediately responded, including officers from the Federal Protective Service. Clyde was pronounced dead at a hospital following the shooting.
Dallas Morning News reports Clyde had posted on a since-deleted Facebook page that he served in the Army at Fort Campbell. A report from the Department of Defense on the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act website shows that Clyde was on active duty from August 10, 2015, to February 17, 2017.
The Leaf Chronicle adds details of his service history were not immediately available Monday, with Fort Campbell officials reviewing records to verify Clyde’s military history.
