Caldwell County School District Awarded Thousands in Grant Funds

The Caldwell County School District has been awarded several thousands of dollars in grant funding following the hire of a part-time grant writer.
Superintendent Nate Huggings says the recent hiring of Tammie Sanders has lead to over $60,000 in grant funding so far.

He adds that Sanders is working on several different grants that will be beneficial to the whole school district.

Huggins notes that several of the grants the district has already received cover a wide range of departments within the school system.

He also explains that the district has applied for a pour-and-play playground grant for both the primary and elementary schools. The grant amount for the primary school is $113,400 with a grant amount of $60,420 for the elementary school. He did note that the grant is a matching grant, with the district having to provide 25 percent of the final cost.
Huggins expressed that the district would hopefully know if they’ve been awarded the grants they’ve currently applied for sometime in the fall.
