Lane Restriction on US641 South of Marion Wednesday

Motorists who routinely travel between Fredonia and Marion need to be aware of a lane restriction along US 641 on Wednesday.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd says that as part of ongoing landscaping and other work to prepare for paving the final driving surface at connecting points for New US 641 South of Marion in Crittenden County, the contractor is planning to place a new cross drain near the 6 mile marker on Wednesday.
He adds that motorists traveling US 641 between Norman and Coleman Roads at the south edge of Marion should be alert for a work zone lane restriction between 8AM and about 4PM. Motorists should be prepared to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.
Todd notes this work site is near where the old portion of US 641 connects to the new roadway and some minor delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.
He reminds motorists that the contractor will continue construction activities in this area in coming weeks and advises everyone to use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
