A Fredonia man has been arrested for a third DUI following an incident involving a boat Thursday night.
Caldwell County Sheriff Stan Hudson says that a deputy was dispatched to Interstate 69 for reports of a boat in the roadway just before eleven. He adds that during the investigation a Chevrolet Silverado truck was observed pulling a boat trailer that appeared to match the boat.
Sheriff Hudson notes that following further investigation and contact with the driver of the truck, 48-year-old Larry Carner, it was determined that he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Carner was arrested and charged with his third offense of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited.
He was then lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
