WPKY and Black Patch Grille Named Chamber’s Business of the Year 2019

Black Patch Grille and WPKY have been named Princeton/Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce Businesses of the Year for 2019.
Chamber President Jesse Rea, announced the decision in front of business owners, government officials, and community professionals at a luncheon Thursday.

Guest speaker, Dr. Jay Akridge, Caldwell County native and Purdue University Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, then addressed those assembled on the values of leadership within business. He expressed that a title does not make a leader.

Dr. Akridge also expressed that great business and community leaders strive to communicate with those around them, ensuring their message is heard. He noted that great leaders also affirm those they lead, stating that it was his belief that “thank” and “you” are the two most important words in the English language.
Before ending his speech Dr. Akridge implored those sitting in the room to never underestimate the passions of those they come into contact with on a daily basis.

Also during the luncheon Allie Coleman was named the new Chamber President, West Market was awarded New Business of the Year, HR Ministries were named Organization of the Year, and new board members were announced.
