Friends of George Coon Public Library Celebrates 25 Years

A local volunteer organization is celebrating a major milestone and is encouraging even more community involvement going forward.
Kathy Svoboda with the Friends of the George Coon Public Library says that 25 years ago an ad was placed in the Times Leader looking for volunteers to help at the library and the organization has grown significantly over that time.

Nichelle Faughn, Director of the Library, adds that the Friends help in other areas besides the annual book sale.

Svoboda expresses that they will be having an open house in celebration of their 25th anniversary on Tuesday afternoon from one to four at the library, which is located at 114 South Harrison Street in Princeton. She notes that members will be there to speak with those interested in joining the organization and says that annual dues are very cost-efficient.
