The Pennyrile Area Development District heard an update concerning the 2020 Census during their monthly meeting Monday afternoon.
Census Partnership Specialist Kisha Mische says their number one goal is to count everyone in the correct location.
She adds there are many reasons as to why it is important to have an accurate population count.
There will be multiple ways to respond to the survey, including online.
Mische notes any information collected by the Census remains confidential.
Right now, the Census is conducting address canvassing to see if addresses still exist. The next step includes group quarter counts, which will take place early next year and counts the populations of jails, long-term health facilities, and more.
The Census Bureau is currently looking for help, with anyone interested urged to apply at census.gov/careers.
