Truck Suffers Damage in Fire Sunday

A truck suffered major damage in a fire on the Caldwell County School Campus over the weekend.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis says crews responded to a truck on fire in the parking lot of the CAB building at the high school just after 3:30 Sunday afternoon. He adds that the fire seemed to have started in a fire pit in the bed of the truck.

Chief Francis notes that the fire quickly spread from the bed of the truck to the vehicle’s cab, shattering the back glass. He indicates that the fire pit had been used recently which could have led to the combustion of other items within the back of the truck.
Chief Francis expresses that the truck, which was owned by Daniel Cortner, was highly damaged in the blaze.
No injures were reported in the incident.
