Friends of the George Coon Public Library Gearing Up for Annual Book Sale

The summer is coming to a close and school bells will ring on Wednesday ushering in one of the most anticipated fundraisers of the year, the Friends of the George Coon Public Library Black Patch Book Sale.
Kathy Svoboda, with the Friends of the Library, says the annual fundraiser will kick off at the end of this month.

She adds that the book sale will have something for everyone.

Svoboda notes that they will also have a great selection of DVD’s, CD’s, and even some VHS tapes, and everything will be a dollar or less.
Nichelle Faughn, Library Director, states that some of the books are old library books but a majority come from community donations and she is encouraging those with gently used books to donate today.

The book sale will kick off Saturday, August 31st and run through Black Patch Saturday, September 7th during normal library business hours. The library and book sale will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day, but will have extended hours from 9AM to 7PM on Tuesday and Thursday. For more information you can contact the George Coon Public Library at 270-365-2884.
