New Policy Announced For Kentucky State Fair

If you are attending the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville this week, fair officials have announced a new policy for minors after an incident over the weekend.
Beginning Wednesday, August 21, officials say fairgoers under 18-years old entering after 6 p.m. must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21-years of age or older. Proof of age is required and IDs will be verified at the gate. In addition to this new policy, officials indicate there will be increased lighting and law enforcement personnel during peak hours.
The policy is in response to individuals reporting a possible active shooter on fairgrounds property Saturday night. State police investigated the report and found large groups of juveniles were congregating and setting off firecrackers in different locations.
The Kentucky State Fair continues through Sunday, August 25th.
