Massive Paving Projects to Begin in Princeton Monday

Massive paving projects are set to begin Monday on many streets in Princeton.
In a post on social media Mayor Kota Young stated that this year’s annual paving will not be like years past as the City has set aside $660,000 for multiple projects, compared to a yearly average of $75,000, and will be doing approximately nine years worth of paving projects in this fiscal year. He added that 31 streets are set to be paved including Baldwin Avenue, Eagon Street, Hospital Drive, Ratliff Street, South Seminary Street, Varmint Trace Road, and more. Paving for all 31 streets is expected to take about a week and a half, weather permitting.
Mayor Young noted that taxes will not increase to fund the massive project, instead funding comes from the combination of the recently awarded $110,500 state grant, the City’s annual state paving allocation, portions of previous years state paving funds, and current year receipts.
Mayor Young is asking all residents who live on the designated streets to move any vehicles that are normally left parked on the street during daylight hours until paving is complete. Any vehicles found parked in the street when paving beings will be towed if an owner can not be found to move the vehicle. Paving will begin on Hospital Drive and will move north and west from there until all designated streets are complete.
