Caldwell County Burn Ban Lifted; Burn Restrictions Still Enforced

Thanks to recent rainfall dry conditions are finally being remedied, leading to local officials lifting a burn ban that was issued in September.
Caldwell County Judge/Executive Larry Curling announced Friday morning that the burn ban for the whole county has been lifted, effective immediately. However, he added that citizens should still adhere to the Kentucky Forestry burn restrictions that are in effect annually from October 1st through December 15th.
The burn restrictions state that it is illegal to burn anything between the hours of 6AM and 6PM if you are within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis reminds all residents that the only things legal to burn are natural vegetation such as brush and limbs, trash is always illegal to burn, regardless of current burn bans or restrictions.
