Motorists Advised to Slow Down Due to Slick Roadways

Local emergency officials are reminding motorists to slow down as recent rain showers have caused hazardous driving conditions.
Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin says that the potentially dangerous circumstances are due to prolonged dry conditions and oil puddled on roadways mixed with scattered rain showers. He adds that three single-vehicle accidents were reported in Fredonia on Friday, mostly due to the slick roadways.
McCaslin notes that while the accidents turned out to be minor, motorists should still slow down and drive with caution, especially during rain showers. He expresses that roadways under these conditions could be just as dangerous as roadways slick with ice.
