Caldwell FBLA Collecting Shoes to Help Those in Need

The Caldwell County Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) are encouraging the public to donate new or gently used shoes to make an impact both in the local community and worldwide.
FBLA President Abby Griggs says that the club is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser now through December 16th to raise funds for their chapter expenses. She adds that the club will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently used and new shoes collected through a partnership with Funds2Orgs.
Griggs notes that all donated shoes will be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries by helping them create, maintain, and grow small businesses where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in the shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe, and house their families.
Griggs states that Funds2Orgs will issue a check to the FBLA for the collected shoes with monies used to help club members with conference expenses incurred throughout the year.
She expresses that all donations can be dropped off at the Caldwell County High School. For more information you can contact FBLA Advisor J.J. Griggs at the high school at 270-365-8010.
