Over 100 Attend Holiday Service of Remembrance

Over one hundred people attended the third annual Holiday Service of Remembrance on Thursday, November 21, at Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church in Princeton.
Jenna Wainer, co-owner of Morgan’s and Lakeland Funeral Homes who sponsored the event, stated that the event brought grieving families and friends together to honor their loved ones heading into the holiday season. She added that the service also provided a place to learn helpful ways to incorporate that special loved one into the many family holiday traditions through a hope filled message delivered by Pat Pitchford Page.
Wainer noted that the community wide service included a candlelight memorial and video presentation as well as special music sung and played by Laura and Shawn Fagin and prayers for peace and comfort this holiday season.
She expressed that those at Morgan’s and Lakeland wanted to start the holiday season by providing hope for those who are grieving a loss, whether this is the first season families are missing a loved one or if many years have passed, it’s still a difficult time.
Participants were able to attend the service for free and received a small evergreen sapling to plant that represents “Hope Grows.”
It is the hope of those at Morgan’s and Lakeland Funeral Homes to continue to host the event and for it to grow even larger as the years go by.
