Funeral services for John Baker, age 75, of LaCenter, formerly of Fredonia, will be held Friday at noon at Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Fredonia. Interment will follow at Rowland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from five until eight at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter and Friday morning from ten until service time at the church.
Bro. John was pastor at Ohio Valley Baptist Church in Barlow, where he had served from 2011 until the present. For several years he and his wife, Peggy, owned and operated Fredonia Food and More Grocery Store in Fredonia. He also pastored several other churches including Sulpher Springs Baptist Church in Marion, Grangertown Baptist Church in Strugis, and New Bethel Baptist Church in Eddyville.
He is survived by his wife: Peggy Baker, of LaCenter; two sons: Reese Baker and wife, Susan, of Fredonia and Jamie Baker and wife, Cheryl, of Memphis, TN; three brothers: Tommie Baker and wife, Sherry, of Fredonia, Joe Baker and wife, Patti, of Marion, and Randy Baker of Fredonia; one sister: Sharlon Wigginton of Fredonia; he is also survived by four grandchildren.
