Princeton Art Guild’s Current Exhibit “Portals” to Raise Awareness of Conservation

All in the community are being invited to browse the new exhibit in the Charles Alvin Lisanby Gallery at the Princeton Art Guild.
Director Melissa Peek says the new exhibit, “Portals,” created by Dawson Springs artist Jarrid Scott, opened on December 1st and will be available for viewing until January 31st, 2020. She adds that in Scott’s own words he attempts to keep his inner child alive through his illustration and sculptural works, creating fantastical dream like pieces that still have a touch of realism.

Peek states that Scott begins many of his works using liquid painting processes to form the base of his work and then adds detailed illustrations on top through the use of illustration board and tracing paper. She explains that Scott also attempts to convey conservation through his use of materials and visual storytelling. With his current exhibit, he hopes to raise awareness of the importance of life on the planet and inspire others to view the world as full magic and worthy of our attention and care.
Peek notes that a percentage of funds from the sale of pieces in the exhibit will be donated to Rare Species Fund, a conservation program geared toward the enchantment of wild species populations through the combination of grassroots conservation projects and public education.

Peek is inviting all in the public to attend Jerrid Scott’s artist reception on Saturday, December 14th from 1 until 2:30PM at the Princeton Art Guild, located at 115 East Main Street. The free meet and greet is a great way to both view the exhibit and speak with the artist himself about his work and conversation efforts. Light refreshments will be served.
